Successful Factory Acceptance Testing Completed for Custom S&C Electric Company Vista® Pad-Mounted Switchgear Units for Aramco

ATCO is pleased to announce the successful completion of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for a series of custom-engineered S&C Vista® Pad-Mounted Switchgear units delivered to Saudi Aramco. These specialized units were designed with all-stainless-steel, corrosion-resistant enclosures and were manufactured and rigorously tested at S&C Electric Company’s world-class facility in Chicago, USA.

The Vista® Pad-Mounted Switchgear platform is known for its ability to address complex switching and protection challenges in medium-voltage distribution networks. With SF₆ insulating gas at its core, the system offers enhanced reliability and long-term performance under demanding environmental conditions. The switchgear’s operator-centric design supports safe, single-person operation and incorporates features such as highly visible isolation gaps and built-in protection mechanisms to ensure the highest levels of operational safety.

The FAT procedures were conducted in the presence of Saudi Aramco’s Technical and Inspection representatives, who oversaw the testing and validation of all functional, safety, and performance requirements. Their participation underscores the importance placed on quality assurance and alignment with Aramco’s rigorous standards.
